In May 2023, our beloved Reba crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Heartbroken, my mother and I agreed: no more pets.
As the days passed, however, we realized something was missing from our home. The unconditional love, companionship, and joy that come from sharing life with a pet simply cannot be replaced. Our house felt quieter, and our hearts felt a little emptier.
A friend of mine, Jennifer, is the founder of Bosley’s Place, a rescue orphanage for underage puppies in the Atlanta area. In July 2023, I came across a Facebook post featuring a rescued litter of Chihuahua-mix puppies. My mother and I admired how adorable they were, but we reminded ourselves that we were done with pets.
One by one, the puppies found loving homes until only one little guy remained.
That’s when my mother looked at me and said, “I need him.”
After a phone call to Jennifer and a nine-hour round trip to Atlanta and back, Oliver officially joined our family in Rincon, Georgia. From the moment he arrived, he took charge. Oliver has been running the household and sharing his very big opinions ever since.
Fast forward to July 2026, and Oliver unexpectedly became a bit of a celebrity. Photos of him shared within my company’s pet-loving community quickly became fan favorites, collecting countless likes, comments, and heart reactions. One coworker jokingly declared that their team was adopting Oliver as its mascot and wanted to print his photo to display at their desks.
I laughed and replied, “Maybe I should create a greeting card collection featuring Oliver.”
The response?
“I dare you.”
And so, Life According to Oliver™ was born.
Today, Oliver’s personality inspires a growing collection of greeting cards designed to bring smiles, laughter, and a little canine wisdom to everyday life. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, saying thank you, offering encouragement, or simply making someone smile, Oliver is always ready with an opinion.
Giving Back
Oliver’s story began with rescue, and giving back is an important part of this collection. (The photo that stole our hearts.)
A portion of the proceeds from every Life According to Oliver™ purchase is set aside to support two organizations that are close to my heart.
Bosley’s Place is where Oliver’s journey began. Without their dedication to rescuing and caring for vulnerable puppies, Oliver might never have found his way into our family.
The MonaPants Foundation is an organization my mother and I have long admired for its dedication to helping dogs receive the care they need and deserve.
At the end of each year, a portion of proceeds from all Life According to Oliver™ products will be donated and shared between these two incredible organizations. Every purchase helps extend Oliver’s story by supporting their missions of finding loving homes for rescue dogs, providing needed medical care, and helping more dogs live happy, healthy lives.
