Thanks to One2One Network I was giving the opportunity to get an advanced digital copy of The London Sessions by Mary J Blige. In true Mary J fashion…this album is terrific! She has such a wonderfully soulful sound whenever she sings!
Mary J Blige has a long list of accomplishments that span Grammy Awards and American Music Awards. The list includes 8 multi-platinum albums, 9 Grammys and 31 nominations, a Golden Globe nomination in 2012, and 4 American Music Awards. As a global superstar, the singer/songwriter has a loyal fan base that has propelled her to record sales to more than 50 million albums!
Traveling to the UK, Mary J Blige worked with some of the UK’s most celebrated musical talent – including Disclosure, Eg White, Emile Sandé, Jimmy Napes, Naughty Boy, SAM ROMANS and Sam Smith to record a new studio album, The London Sessions. This wonderful new collection will be released December 2 on Capitol Records.
Quoting Steve Barnett (Capitol Music Group Chairman) – “Mary J. Blige created a one-of-a-kind blend of hip-hop and soul that has excited fans for more than 20 years, making her one of the most successful and acclaimed artists in any genre of music. The London Sessions is a fantastic album; another step forward for this great and enduring artist, and I am thrilled that she is now an important member of our Capitol Records family.”

While I truly loved the whole album, Therapy was one of my favorites, which she co-wrote with Sam Smith and Eg White. When I actually looked up the lyrics and really red them and took them in, I realized how powerful they are and it seems to me that Mary was very vulnerable when writing that song.
These are the last few lines from the song:
Someone help me
Turn around
I’m a victim
Hate the sound of my own voice
Turn it down
And all I do is aggravation
Why would I spend the rest of my days so bitter
And all that listening is making you bitter too
When I can go therapy
When I can go therapy
When I can go therapy two times a day
