If you told me 20 years ago (maybe even 5 years ago) that the future of art would be 3D art I probably would have laughed in your face (it’s a bad habit of mine).  I was so excited recently to be part of a review campaign that allowed me the opportunity to review the new 7TECH 3D Printing / Drawing pen. I will be honest, I’ve never been good at drawing and this was no different. It was certainly fun! I mean super fun – I just wish I had the ability to draw. Even my stick figures don’t resemble stick figures!

When this opportunity came up I knew I wanted to take advantage of it. I’ve been looking at these pens for a while because my brother is a fabulous artist and I’d love to see what he can create with one.  I figured I’d get the pen, try it out and then send it to him.  Yes, I really am still going to send it to him.  I’m kind of nice like that!

Inside the box you will find the pen, AC adapter, filament, a spatula and some instructions plus a thank you note.

The pen is quite easy to operate – and probably even easier if you have any drawing abilities whatsoever!

It’s really as simple as loading the filament after it heats up, pushing the button…and drawing! I did a YouTube video to share my review of the product, which also includes some instructions on using it. Be sure to check it out below (and give me a ? on the YouTube).

I made this “flower” with the pen. Or perhaps the phrase is “I attempted to make a flower with the pen.” I’m sure with more practice I could actually make something that looks like a real thing, but since I specifically planned to get it for my brother off to him it goes!

What would you make if you had a 3D pen?
